If you are looking for an easy Keto Crab Cakes recipe look no further! I made these crab cakes in the air fryer but you can also easily fry them in a pan if you don’t have one. Considering getting one? The Instant Pot® Duo™ Crisp + Air Fryer is my recommendation! My husband LOVES crab cakes. In fact, our local restaurant serves them and he said they were the best he ever had. I disagreed with him so I found this recipe from All Day I Dream About Food. I adjusted the recipe a little bit from the one I found (little less salt, dried parsley instead of fresh, and no sauce next time), and guess what, hubs now says this is his favorite.

Are Crab Cakes Keto-friendly?

Crab is a great source of important vitamins and is low carb. Not all seafood is low carb so don’t assume it all is. This keto crab cake recipe comes in at 7 net carbs (9 carbs) per serving (2 cakes) so make sure to plan for it in your daily allowance. Instead of an appetizer, you may want to have it as your meal. They are very filling and delicious so you will be satisfied.

Keto Crab Cakes Air Fryer or Pan?

If you don’t have an air fryer for your keto crab cakes, use a frying pan instead. Just cook on medium-high for about 10 minutes, 5 minutes per side. I’ve made crab cakes both in the air fryer and in the pan and I’m sure many of you are wondering which is better. Well, I like both ways for different reasons:

  • Crab Cakes in Air Fryer

Hands down, I love how quick and simple it is to make them in the air fryer. You just throw them in, set the temp and timer, and wait to flip. When done, let the basket cool. It’s easy to wash and you’re done. The only downfall I have with the air fryer is the basket is deep and a little narrow so flipping my crab cakes can be a little challenging. I’ve broken one or two of them on the flip in the past. But luckily that doesn’t change the taste of them at all!

  • Crab Cakes in the Pan

Making keto crab cakes in a frying pan, I’ll be honest, can get messy. The grease splatters and the pan sometimes sticks. Also, the temperature and timing can be more challenging. Everyone’s stovetop is different. But there is something satisfying about watching the cakes sizzle and flipping them over to reveal that golden brown crisp.
